Joe LaMotta was an American professional boxer from the Bronx, New York. He was born on January 10, 1926, and died on February 7, 2017, at the age of 91. LaMotta competed in the middleweight division and had a professional record of 83 wins (30 by knockout), 19 losses, and four draws. He was also known as the "Bronx Bull" and was the inspiration for the Martin Scorsese film "Raging Bull," which starred Robert De Niro as LaMotta. LaMotta was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1990. Outside of boxing, he worked as a nightclub owner and comedian.
